This is part of a series of furniture designed and executed in 1927 by Josef Frank from the Haus & Garten period, to a special order for the couple Hugo & Melvine Blitz in Vienna. During our research, found 1 photo in the archives of the MAK museum, in which other pieces of the furniture series can be recognized.A clear identity can be seen in the mahogany pattern of the furniture, the shape design, the size and shape of the key, the size and thickness of the ball straps.I found the pieces of furniture in a warehouse in Vienna. According to them, the pieces come from the evacuation of an apartment in Vienna.The furniture pieces are basically in good condition, but needs some little resoration. Light traces of use are visible. 1 key is missing, the mirror is original, the straps are slightly oxidized, but overall is in good condition. The back of the cabinet is fixed with nails, while the locks are small with copper screws with small heads typical of the age. The original archive photos (Last two) come from the collection of the MAK museum in Vienna.I also found a similar cabinet plan in the archive. The cabinets can also be placed separately. The furniture is a real rarity, because only 1 of them exists. Made to order, not serial production! We can undertake the restoration of the furniture, it is a matter of discussion.
